Economy
Travelling with Infants:
When travelling with an infant or small child, you can bring any combination or all of the following items as checked baggage for free: a pram, a stroller, a portable cot and/or a highchair. You won’t have to pay the oversized item fee for any of these items. Bassinets can be requested on some international flights. Jetstar don’t carry infant food or drinks on board, so be sure to bring enough for your journey. It will count towards your carry-on baggage allowance. Infants not occupying a seat don’t have a carry-on baggage allowance. You’ll have to carry any baby items such as food, drink, nappies and clothing needed during your flight as part of your own carry-on baggage allowance. If your infant has an allocated seat, and is either sitting up unaided or in an approved car seat, their fare includes the standard carry-on baggage allowance. Harnesses and slings are handy at the airport, but their use is restricted on board
Food:
Food isn't included with the Starter fares, you buy something to eat during your flight. Most of the bundle fares include food and drinks or in-flight vouchers. Menus vary depending on flight length, aircraft type and destination – with light bites on short flights and more substantial options on long-haul international flights.
The Business Class dining experience includes three-course lunches and dinners, gourmet in-flight snacks and continental breakfasts. You’ll choose from a selection of Western, Asian and vegetarian meals that have been prepared with fresh local ingredients from the regions Jetstar fly to.
You can buy meals, snacks and drinks on board all Jetstar Airways (JQ), Jetstar Asia (3K) and Jetstar Japan (GK) flights, or pre-purchase them online before you fly. To ensure you get the meal of your choice, we recommend you pre-order your meal up to 24 hours before departure through Manage Booking. Please note: Jetstar Airways (JQ) only accepts credit card payments or pre-paid in-flight vouchers on board. They offer a variety of in-flight meals and snacks. Menus will vary depending on flight length, destination and the size of the aircraft – short flights on smaller planes offer quick and easy bites while longer international flights feature two meal services to keep you satisfied while you fly.
Many bundles include a meal (or a voucher for something from the on-board menu), and you can choose to have this during the first or second meal service. You can also pre-purchase an additional meal if you think you might get peckish. Check your itinerary to see what aircraft you’re travelling on, then check the menus online to see what’s available.
Entertainment:
Movies, TV, games and music – there’s something for everyone! In-flight entertainment is available on international flights on our Boeing 787 Dreamliners. Keep the kids busy with their own shows and games, enjoy a huge music library, and watch the latest movies and TV shows from the US, Japan and elsewhere. Flying Economy? Depends on the bundle purchased. In-flight entertainment is complimentary for Business Class passengers.
As part of Jetstar's wider push to reduce our environmental footprint and cut back on waste, they encourage Economy passengers to bring their own headphones on Dreamliner flights.
And the best part? Standard single-pin headphones work perfectly in the double-pin jacks onboard! That’s what we call a win-win situation. (Of course, if you don’t have headphones, their cabin crew will be happy to provide you with some.) Business Class passengers are provided with noise-cancelling headphones.
